iManage: Error When Copying Between Databases
You may encounter an error when attempting to copy or move documents and folders between different databases within iManage (for example, from the 'UK Projects' database to the 'UK Corp' database).
This is a system limitation: iManage does not support direct copying across separate databases.
Workaround: Download and Re-upload
To move the content, you must first save it to your computer and then upload it to the new destination.
Download: Navigate to the folder or files you wish to move. Select them and use the Download function to save a copy to your local machine (e.g., your Desktop or Downloads folder).
Navigate: Go to the destination database and folder where you want to move the content.
Re-upload: Drag and drop the downloaded files/folders from your computer directly into the destination folder in iManage.
Pro-Tip: If you are moving a large number of folders and files, it is often easier and quicker to download the entire parent folder, which will maintain its internal structure, and then upload that single folder to the new location.
